On the last class of the week, we discussed about an important topic and that topic was networking. What we went over is just how important this skill is in order to become successful in life. First, we talked about what networking really is. Networking is interacting with others and making connections. Some might say that it is not important but that is false.
Networking and making connections with others will come with many benefits such as getting a job or getting into a college. A person who knows someone that works for a company that he wants to work at will have a greater chance of getting a job there rather then a random person who fills out an application there. This concept also applies for students who are trying to apply to college. A student that has connections to someone in the college that they are applying to will have a greater chance of being accepted rather then a random student. The reason for this is because colleges and businesses like to accept people that they know. Unfortunately, this is how the world works but we must work with it to make the best out of it.
